I uploaded this to shows users on www.transmission1.co.uk the basics of using the Motorola i355 phone on the DIRECT-TALK systm, off network. The directtalk allows users to operatethe phone as a digital two-way radio in the 902-928MHz ISM band. Motorola state that ranges up to 6 miles can be achieved, but this is either overstated if in the city or urban areas, or understated if in the countryside or on water. I've had ranges well in excess of 20 miles from high ground, and with superb audio quality. I bought these from Ebay for just each, and they work much better than PMR446 or FRS/GMRS.
